Overview

I collaborated with Normal VR to design and prototype interactive tools for their social VR platform. My focus was on usability, expressiveness, and charm—bringing personality to core features while ensuring intuitive interactions.

  • Defined tool requirements with the team across design and engineering.
  • Designed and modeled interactive 3D assets for production.
  • Rigged and animated tools to enhance usability and emotional appeal.
  • Prototyped and tested tools in VR to fine-tune form and function.

VR Paintbrush

A core creative tool in the social space, the VR Paintbrush lets users draw and paint 3D ribbons in real time.

  • Designed the look and feel to align with the playful, social tone of the platform.
  • Modeled the brush in 3D and rigged it for animation—including charming gestures and motion when in use.
  • Worked closely with developers to test and refine usability, ensuring users felt creative freedom with minimal friction.
  • Helped shape haptic and visual feedback that made the tool feel satisfying and alive.
